***THIS GAME IS POSTPONED AND RESCHEDULED FOR A DOUBLEHEADER TOMORROW, MAY 1ST, 2019***
The Sox have won 3 straight entering tonight’s game vs. the Orioles I’m very bullish on Chicago right now, even though they are playing against the worst stretch of their schedule this season. For my full weekly analysis on the South Sliders, check out my White Sox Weekly Review here (HYPERLINK).
Moneyline – CWS -144, BAL +124
Runline – CWS -1.5 +135, BAL +1.5 -155
O/U – 8.5 O -120, U Even
The O’s will send Andrew Cashner to the bump on Tuesday night. Cashner pitched against the Sox last time out, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk. Overall Andrew has thrown 32.1 innings with a 4.18 ERA and he boasts a 4-1 record. The pitching staff as a whole ranks 30th in team ERA with a 6.05 and 29th in WHIP, which sits at a 1.53 – not great, by any means. Offensively, the Orioles aren’t very good, as their 10-20 record reflects. They are 3-10 in their last 13. Chris Davis has been pretty “mehhh” as of late. After starting out horribly with the 53 AB-hitless streak, he has his average up to .176 with 13 RBI’s and 3 HR’s. Davis is always a threat, despite his outlier of a start that is holding his numbers down.
Chicago White Sox
Well…. I was just about to finish up this preview until I checked back and the game is listed as “Postponed.” Perhaps this is good since Ivan Nova will not have to step on the mound tonight. Last time out Nova was hammered for 9 Earned Runs on 11 hits, and 3 walks against this same Orioles team. Right now it is pouring, so the Southsiders may get lucky on this one and not have to play – and only reason I say they’ll be lucky if they skip a Nova start.
Analysis & Prediction
I think that Nova must realize that he is dead weight to this Sox team. There is absolutely no room for him on a consistently improving roster. With that being said, if this game gets played then I say he brings it this game. I’m sure pitching coach, Don Cooper, pounded the idea of not throwing balls up in the zone or he will give up another four homers this game. I’m actually going to take the White Sox in this game. They are playing much better baseball than the Orioles and I think that will continue as they get their second opportunity against Cashner this season. Take the Sox and their red hot sticks at -1.5 for a positive payout of +135.
Trent’s White Sox Free Picks Record
2-2 (-.12 Units). A $100 bettor would be down $12 over Trent’s 4 White Sox picks.
