Analysis and Best Bet
The Bulls continue their road trip, this time visiting old friends Tom Thibodeau, Derrick Rose, and Taj Gibson in New York. Surprising as it is, the Knicks are the fourth seed in the East with a 34-28 record and a 9-1 record in their last 10 games. Chicago is coming off an impressive road victory against the Miami Heat, 110-102. This is the final meeting between the two teams and the season series is tied at one.
It was the big man show for the Bulls on Monday. Nikola Vucevic (24 points and 11 rebounds) and Daniel Theis (23 points and 12 rebounds) put up monster games to push the Bulls to a pivotal road victory. Coby White added 17 points, six assists, and five rebounds. At 26-35, Chicago still has a chance to make the play-in tournament, trailing Washington by one game for the 10th seed.
New York is coming off a tough loss to Phoenix, 118-110, but they have been one of the hottest teams in basketball. Julius Randle has been playing lights out. He leads New York in points (23.9), rebounds (10.4), and assists (6.0). RJ Barrett (17.5 PPG and 5.7 REB) has also put together a solid season. Additionally, D-Rose (13.9 PPG and 4.1 AST) is playing great. This could be the season New York makes some noise.
I don’t see this game turning into a blowout even without LaVine for the Bulls. Vooch and Coby have been playing excellent with Theis providing a big spark. New York is a good team, but I think the Bulls can keep this game within reach. I’m rolling with the over once again at 207.5 points. It worked last time, and I think it will work again.
