Analysis and Best Bet
After an aggressive trade deadline, the Bulls are 0-2 since and on a four-game losing streak. To make matters worse, star Zach LaVine is battling a nagging ankle injury that could (and should) sideline him. It’s vital to have LaVine healthy. Additionally, Coby White is battling a neck injury and is questionable. Moreover, G Garrett Temple is doubtful with a hamstring injury. If all three are unable to go, look at extended minutes for Sato, Archy, Denzel Valentine, and Troy Brown Jr.
Phoenix is led by their big three, Devin Booker (25.0 PPG), Deandre Ayton (14.7 PPG and 11.0 REB), and Chris Paul (15.9 PPG and 8.5 AST). The Suns are 32-14, second in the western conference. They are proving their early season success in no fluke and are legit contenders this season. Moreover, Phoenix is on a three-game winning streak, going a scorching 7-3 in their last 10 games. They did play last night against Atlanta, winning 117-110. Tired legs may play a factor but Phoenix has good depth with Jae Crowder, Dario Saric, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Cameron Payne.
The Bulls are going have a tough time snapping that losing streak against one of the best teams in the west. Even if LaVine gets the green light, his ankle has hampered his shooting. I think it’s best to rest him and maybe even White. Prioritize health in order to make a run. At 19-26, the Bulls are running out of time, but can’t risk the health of their star player. I’m taking the Phoenix money line tonight for one unit at -290. They defeated Chicago, 106-97, in the first meeting this season. Even if the Bulls were healthy, the Suns are one of the best teams in the league. Their roster is deep and have too much firepower for the Bulls to contain.
