Analysis and Best Bet
Shorthanded, Chicago battled against a top team in the West, losing 121-116 to Phoenix. Their rally fell short but it was one of the better games we’ve seen from Chicago recently. Garrett Temple will remain out with Coby and Zach both questionable. If either one can play, that will give the Bulls a boost. Utah has some players dealing with injuries/personal matters as well. Juwan Morgan and Udoka Azubuike are both out with injuries. Joe Ingles is day-to-day, with his status up in the air. Star Donovan Mitchell was out last game against Memphis due to personal reasons, and there is no indication yet if he will be back.
Utah won the first meeting, 120-95. It’s no surprise their odds are high in this one. Utah is the No. 1 seed in the West, with a league-best 36-11 record. Additionally, Utah is on a seven-game winning streak. On the other hand, Chicago is on a five-game skid, still 10th in the East, on the brink of the play-in tournament. Chicago’s schedule is doing them no favors with consecutive games against the top two teams in the West, down key players. Toronto remains two games back of Chicago for the 10th seed.
There is some injury matters to work out still and I don’t know how cautious the Bulls are going to be with White and LaVine. Utah could be without Mitchell and Ingles, which could impact several factors in the game. If even one of those guys are out, then it could impact the over/under. Last time, the under hit, and the under has hit in eight of Chicago’s last 11 games. I’m following the trend and taking the under at 228 points.
