The game is in just a few hours and I have a ton of shit to do so I will keep it pretty brief for today. The Cubs squandered an early lead as they fell by a score of 8-6 yesterday.  Joey Votto was able to notch his 300th career home run so congrats to him on the milestone.  Jake Arrieta wqs knocked around pretty badly as he went just 3.1 innings and gave up 7 hits, 7 runs, and 3 long balls. Wade Miley was able to pick up the win as he improved to 3-2.

Today it will be Zach Davies vs Luis Castillo.  Both guys have struggled in the early going as they are both not where they expect to be.  Digging a bit deeper into the numbers, the Cubs offense has been great against Castillo.  Jason Heyward has 2 home runs off Castillo and his hitting .300 off of him.  Ian Happ is hitting a robust .462 with a dinger.  Likewise with the Reds against Davies, Joey Votto, Nick Castellanos, and Eugenio Suarez all have home runs off Davies.

Given the success of both offenses here, I am going to be taking O 9 runs for today.  The forecast looks promising and the ball should be jumping.  I really don’t see either starter lasting more than 5 innings and we should get plenty of offensive output.
