The Sox last series pretty much went the way I had predicted – we dropped 3 of 4 to a Boston team that is starting to heat up. We’re on to Cleveland though, as Ricky’s boys start a 4-game set with divisional opponent, the Cleveland Indians.
Moneyline – CLE -250, CWS +215
Runline – CLE -135, CWS +115
O/U – 9 (-110)
The Indians had high hopes coming into the 2019 season but things aren’t really coming to fruition for them. Corey Kluber just joined Mike Clevinger on the IL, meaning Terry Francona’s starting rotation is really hurting. Tonight they will send Trevor Bauer to the bump. Bauer enters tonight’s contest with a 4-1 record on the year and a WHIP of 1.05. His ERA of 2.45 is 6th best in the AL – so not too shabby. The University of Cal pitcher performs well against Chicago – holding them to a .204 batting average (32-157). Offensively, Francisco Lindor has been only “mehh” since coming off the IL a few weeks back. Lindor is hitting .229 with 4 bombs and 7 RBI’s.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox, after having a below-average weekend, send Ivan Nova to the mound to face the Indians. I think you guys all know my opinion on Nova – he’s ass. Last time out, the White Sox won for the first time in Nova’s six starts on the year. And believe me, it wasn’t because of Ivan Nova – it was Nicky Delmonico hitting a walkoff in the 9th. Yonder Alonso has the best record when facing Trevor Bauer, batting .357 (5-14) 1 homer off of him. Yoan Moncada and Yolmer Sanchez also have a homerun each when facing Bauer.
Analysis & Prediction
Well guys, I have a chalk pick for this one. I think our safest bet for this game is to lay the juice and take the Indians at -250. I see Bauer settling in and continuing his successful 2019 season. I wouldn’t be surprised if the White Sox hang around in this game and keep it close – that’s why I’m saying we only fire on the ML, rather than the RL here. I would also lean for the Under in this contest – just a lean, not saying to play it. Take the Indians at -250 if you enjoy winning money.
Trent’s White Sox Free Pick Record
4-3 (+.82 Units). A $100 bettor would be up $82 this season.
