The White Sox are heavy underdogs tonight as they enter Houston for a 4-game set. Rightfully so since the Astros are flaming hot – on a 13-2 tear over their last 15 and had a 10-game winning streak snapped by the Red Sox yesterday afternoon.

Chicago White Sox
The Sox enter tonight’s game splitting their last 6 games, 3-3. They are in for a rude awakening as they failed to take care of garbage teams the last few weeks. I’m honestly surprised the line for this game is only at -231. I would expect -231 if Renteria marched out Ivan Nova or Dylan Covey, but not when we’re rolling with Ryan Burr and a bullpen game. First off, shout out to Ryan – a fellow ASU Alum. My former classmate and Sun Devil owns a 1-0 record with a 4.32 ERA on the season. He pairs those statistics with a 16/6 K/BB ratio and a 1.26 WHIP. Not too shabby and personally I think he’s been decent so far this season. The White Sox offense averaged 3 runs per game over their 4-game weekend series with the Blue Jays and they only took two of the four games.
I love watching the Astros play baseball, they’re a fun team to watch with a lot of young talent. They are crushing teams right now as they sit at 31-16 on the year – that’s good enough for the best record in the MLB. They will look to put even more room between them and the second-place L.A. Angels (8.5 GB in the West) as they host our White Sox tonight. Brad Peacock takes the ball tonight as he is a part of arguably the best pitching staff in the league. They have the best team batting average against (.206), best WHIP (1.05), and 4th best team ERA (3.43). Big Brad has been solid on the year, going 4-2 and carrying a 4.01 ERA. The righty has gone 12 innings over his last two starts and given up 1 Earned Run over that stretch. He struck out 15 and walked 5 in those 12 innings.
Analysis & Prediction
I hope you’re ready to make some money this series. The Astros are going to destroy the White Sox. The Southsiders may snatch one win but overall I would expect this to be a pretty lopsided series. It’s hard to bet against the Astros and their hot streak. You’d be a madman not to HAMMER the Astros -1.5 (-129) for 2 Units. I think this price is a steal too. Although I’m not playing this next one, have a look at the Over as well. The Astros might score 10 runs by themselves. I’ve been on a tear myself on White Sox free picks – you’d be up over $350 the last two games if you were on board. Good luck tonight and let’s hope the Sox bullpen doesn’t get too messed up.
Trent’s Record on Free White Sox Picks
9-9-1 (+2.14 Units). A $100 bettor would be up $214 this season.
