I hope you’ve been riding with me on my Sox Free Picks because we’re crushing it. The last three games I’ve given out were all 2-Unit wagers and they’ve all hit. If you’ve followed every move this season you would have accumulated $369. I pride myself on profiting off of these free picks to build credibility amongst my audience. So jump on board, I don’t research these games for nothing.
Money Line – HOU -360, CWS+315
Run Line – HOU -1.5 (-170), CWS (+150)

First Pitch – 7:10 CST, Minute Maid Park, Houston Astros
Chicago White Sox
The Sox took one on the chin last night as they fell to the red-hot Astros, 3-0, in the first of four games. Several times they had RISP but were unable to get that big 2-out hit to bring home some runs. Rather than another bullpen game, Chicago will send Dylan Covey to the mound tonight. Covey dropped his ERA last time out from 5.91 to 4.41 after holding the Blue Jays to only 1 earned run over 5.2 innings. Don’t expect to get many innings out of Covey, his recent starts have gone 5.2, 4.2, & 4.2. The Sox will need him to go as far as he can in this one considering they used 5 bullpen arms last night. Chicago is 0-8 in their last 8 games vs Houston.
The Astros are still killing it. They are on an insane 14-2 run over their last 16 and they send ace, Justin Verlander to the hill tonight. Kate Upton’s husband sits at 7-1 on the year with a 2.38 ERA. Verlander’s last time out was a W in which he faced his former club, the Detroit Tigers. That game went under with a score of 5-1 and Verlander struck out 9 batters over 7 innings. On the offensive side, Houston ranks 1st as a team in Batting Average, OBP, and Slugging % as well as 2nd in Homeruns and 4th in Runs. This lineup is stacked, 1-9 – there is no weakness for the Astros. The Under has hit in 5 straight games for Houston. They will be without Jose Altuve and George Springer, even though Springer was just downgraded off of the IL.
Analysis & Prediction
Well, this line is way too damn high to touch. A -360 favorite leaves the Astros with a 78.3% implied probability to win this game. This is the largest line I’ve seen in a while. But you don’t care about that, you want to win some money! The White Sox are not going to do well tonight. Jose Abreu is the only Sox player with success over Verlander, as he is 15-38 with 5 bombs. I looked at the Astros team total to offset the massive juice, but I think 5.5 is a little high – especially with the Under hitting 5 straight times in Astro games. I am rolling with the ‘Stros -1.5 in this game for 1 unit. They’ll get to Covey even without Springer and Altuve. The Sox bullpen is likely without four of the five guys that threw yesterday as well. Let’s keep it going here!
Trent’s Record on Free White Sox Picks
10-9-1 (+3.69 Units). A $100 bettor would be up $369 this season.
