Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays: Preview & Prediction – 5/12/19

First off, Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! We love you guys and everything you do for us!

Secondly, my Saturday was ruined when the White Sox scored 5 runs in the final 2 innings, allowing for my 2 Unit bet on the Under to end in a push. That one would have gotten us back into positive money on my Free White Sox Bets this year, but hey, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Moneyline – TOR -160, CWS +140

Runline – TOR -1.5 (+120), CWS +1.5 (-140)

Over/Under – 8.5 (O -120, U Ev)

First Pitch – 12:07 CST, Rogers Centre, Toronto, Canada

Chicago White Sox

Is James McCann our savior? Is he the answer to all of our problems? The man was playing like an all-star yesterday, going 4-4 at the plate and making a heads up play to turn two late in the game. Well done, sir. As a fan, I 100% prefer when he gets the nod behind the dish over Welington Castillo. Tomorrow, the Southsiders will lean on Lucas Giolito to take the rubber match north of the border. Lucas sits at 3-1 with a 4.06 ERA and a K/BB ratio of 2.53. The kid out of Santa Monica, California dominated the “not-so-good” Indians offense last time out, lasting 7.1 innings and allowing 0 runs while striking out 8 guys.

Toronto Blue Jays

I’ve been saying it all series – these guys are not very good at hitting the baseball. They have only scored 6 runs over the last 5 games now and are losers of 6 of 7 games. They rank in the bottom 5 of the following offensive categories: Batting Average, OBP, Runs, Slugging Percentage, and Homeruns. Any Toronto-ites that aren’t watching the Raptors on Sunday, will be relying on Aaron Sanchez to lead the Blue Jays to a win here. He sits at 3-3 on the year with a 3.21 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. His walks are up – 25 over 42 innings pitched on the year, so hopefully, the White Sox can take advantage of that.

Analysis & Prediction

I like Lucas Giolito to carry over his dominate performance and man handle the Blue Jays. That’s really all I have to say about this one. I think the White Sox have been getting decent enough production from their offense that I can finally roll with them to take this game and the series. Take the White Sox and the plus money (+140) here.

Trent’s White Sox Free Pick Record

5-7-1 (-1.51 Units). A $100 bettor would be down $151 this season.
