The Twins and Indians have come out of the first two series as the clear best teams in the AL Central. Both of them have won both of their series to start the season, and these next four games can be big for either team to gain an early lead atop the AL Central.
Money Line- Cleveland Indians +108, Minnesota Twins -125
Run Line- Cleveland Indians +1 (-148), Minnesota Twins -1 (+125)
Total- 8.5 (O-113, U-106)
First Pitch- 6:07 p.m. CST. Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota
This Cleveland team has gotten off to this hot start mainly because of their pitching. The starters have been great, and the bullpen has been solid besides last night when they let up four runs in the 9th inning. They have their best starter on the mound tonight in Shane Bieber who was lights out in his first start on Opening Day. He destroyed the Royals as he pitched six shutout innings, and he struck out 14 batters in those six innings. If he can go six or seven innings again this game, the Indians should be set. That is going to be a tougher challenge this time out as he is facing one of the best hitting teams in the league with the Minnesota Twins. It is going to be a big challenge for Beiber.
This team crushes the ball. Through six games this season, the team has a total of 10 homeruns already. Three of them have come from father time himself Nelson Cruz. Most of the lineup has picked up right where they left off last year as the Twins are one of the best hitting teams in the league so far.
They got their ace on the mound for this one as Jose Berrios, but Berrios was less than stellar in his first game. Against the White Sox on Opening Day, Berrios threw four innings while letting up five earned runs on seven hits. He also only struck out one batter on a White Sox team that has been striking out left and right to start this season. Berrios will need to be better if the Twins want to win this one.
Analysis and Prediction
This one is tough as both of these teams have looked good to start the year. However, I am riding with Cleveland with this one on the money line at +108. Ultimately, the Tribe got the nod from me because of the pitching matchup. Bieber is going to outpitch Berrios, and the Indians will win because of it.
