Dynamo Kyiv (LLWLW)
Kyiv continues to hold a firm lead in the Ukrainian Premier League, three points over Shakhtar, but have failed to reproduce their championing ways in the Champions League. Dynamo are 3rd in their group, tied with Fradi at one point from a draw with Fradi, but being beat down by one less goal than the Hungarians. The top team for Kyiv should be completely healthy as their Covid ravagings have passed, but that will only make the struggle a bit more painful in this match.
The Italian holders seem to have a revolving door of injuries at center back, the only position they’re lacking in this week, but Matthijs de Ligt and Bonucci are healthy and will start for the Turin club. They’re still struggling to gain an edge in Serie A but ought to be more than capable of getting back into the fray with the team they have. In the Champions League they’re currently second and probably won’t be able to usurp Barcelona, the team who beat them and reside above them. I expect the Italians to be relentless, though, and gain all the momentum they can before facing off with their group rivals in the final match of the group stage.
Analysis and Pick
Juventus is going to win this match and will probably do it by a decent margin, so that leads me right into my pick. Even with Dynamo healthy and fielding their best team, Juventus are miles ahead of the club. They have one of the best players in the world and one of the most talented lineups in the world from top to bottom. They’re warming up to Pirlo’s system and will need a big win to keep focus this season. Take Juventus to cover the -1.5 goal spread.
