Analysis and Best Bet
A historic performance by the Bulls backcourt of Zach LaVine (46 points, seven rebounds, and nine 3-pointers) and Coby White (30 points and eight 3-pointers) fueled the Bulls past the Pelicans, 129-116. It was the first time in NBA history that a pair of teammates connected on at least eight 3-pointers each. To add more history in the books, the Bulls made a franchise record 25 3’s. The Bulls have struggled at home and with their shooting, but Wednesday’s game shed hope. They follow up the win with a tough test against the 18-8 Clippers.
Last time these two teams met, it came down to the wire. The Clippers won 130-127. The Bulls will be shorthanded with their injuries, and similarly, the Clippers will be without their star in Paul George (24.4 PPG, 6.2 REB, and 5.5 AST). Both Kawhi Leonard and Zach LaVine will be tasked with a heavier workload.
Both teams have gone 2-3 in their last five games. However, when looking at the stats of both teams, they are eerily similar. Both teams shoot 48.1% from the field. Both teams average 115 PPG. Each team averages more than seven steals a game. There’s a lot more similarities, but it will be tougher for the Bulls this time around without several key players.
My success on outcomes of games has not been good lately. So, I’m going back to prop bets. I’m taking the over on Daniel Gafford points at 6.5 (-110). Gafford is an effective points in the paint big man, and the Bulls will find him for easy buckets.
