The Brewers hope to lock up the series win this afternoon and continue to stay hot as they’ve won seven of their last eight. Milwaukee has been very dominant in the first two games, with the lineup hitting very well and good pitching performances such as Freddy Peralta’s gem of a game last night. The Crew will send out Brandon Woodruff (4-2 1.27 ERA) for the third game of this four-game series while the Diamondbacks counter with Merill Kelly (2-6 5.04 ERA).

Arizona Diamondbacks (20-39)
It’s been a tough season for the D-Backs as they currently have the worst record in the MLB. Nothing has gone right for Arizona as the offense has been mediocre and lacks the ability to carry their struggling pitching staff. Coming into the season, this team’s biggest question mark was the pitching staff, and besides a few games, they’ve been consistently bad. Merill Kelly is one of these pitchers who have struggled to pitch well this season as he has an ERA north of five and a WHIP of 1.352. Unfortunately, things won’t be easy for Kelly as Milwaukee’s offense has been hitting well lately. Now I know that was four sentences of bashing the Diamondbacks, but the team has some good young talent like Zac Gallen and a few guys in the minors. The thing here is that until this young talent makes their way to the majors, it’s going to continue to be a rough road ahead.
Milwaukee Brewers (31-26)
It appears that the Brewers have found their stride in a way as they’ve been able to put a good run together. The offense has been much better as of late compared to the first two months of the season. It could be that Milwaukee is facing weaker competition, but still, it’s good to finally see some consistent success out of the lineup. Willy Adames has been an excellent addition to the lineup as his batting has greatly improved since being traded from Tampa Bay. With the lineup healthy and the rust being shaken off for Yelich, now the offense will be able to help out their ace starter, Brandon Woodruff. There isn’t too much to say about Woodruff’s 2021 season other than the guy has just been able to do everything. He’s got a low ERA and WHIP, and to this point, he’s already racked up a 3.7 WAR, and we are only in early June. I expect Woodruff to be dominant this afternoon and continue his stellar 2021.
Best Bet & Prediction
My Best Bet for this game is the Brewers covering the spread -1.5 (-110). Milwaukee is the better team in every aspect, with the biggest advantage being in the pitching matchup. Woodruff is facing a lineup that hasn’t been swinging the bats well as of late, and with his elite velocity and command, I don’t see the D-Backs getting traffic on the bases. The Brewers’ lineup has been pretty good as of late, and with facing a guy like Kelly along with Arizona’s subpar bullpen, the Brewers should score at least a handful of runs. My prediction is Milwaukee getting a comfortable lead early and taking the win with a final score of 6-2.
