My Favorite Bets of the Night – 9/16/20

By: Trent Pruitt (@trentbets)

What’s up guys?! I’m putting out a “best bets” article today rather than my usual White Sox preview. As of right now I only have this one bet below but I’ll be looking throughout the morning for at least one more so make sure to check back! (11:04A CST)

I’m adding one more pick below the DBacks vs. Angels. I was able to analyze the game but I don’t have too much time to preview like normal so I’ll drop the pick and just a brief explanation! (4:30P CST)

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Angels – 8:40 CST

AZ +175, LAA -190; 9 (O +100, U -120)

Let’s head out west where we have a matchup featuring the terrible DBacks and the mediocre Angels. I’m goi to get right to it, we’re backing the Halos on the money line tonight at -190 for 2 units. We rode Dylan Bundy last week against the Rangers and we’ll do it again tonight. Bundy has the most reliable starter for the Angels this season, boasting a 5-2 record with a 2.48 ERA (13th best in MLB) and 0.91 WHIP (37th). As for the LAA bats, they haven’t been an issue in 2020. They’re 7th in runs scored (241), 9th in homers (69), and 9th in OBP (.332).

The DBacks will send Caleb Smith to the bump tonight and he’s making his 3rd appearance on the year. He’s gone 6.0 IP over allowing two runs and two hits. Smith is going to develop into a solid pitcher but we’ll attack him while he’s young and finding his groove in the big leagues. One stat I picked up this morning is that Anthony Rendon is 3-6 with a bomb off of Smith. Expect him to have a big night and share his previous knowledge with his teammates. Let’s get back into the win column tonight!

Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros – 7:10 CST

HOU -218, TEX +195; 8.5 (O -120, U +100)

Similarly to last week, we’re going to fade Kyle Gibson. I’m taking the Astros -1.5 (-120) for a unit tonight! Gibson is 1-5 on the year with a 6.14 ERA and 1.66 WHIP – yikes. Like I said, I don’t have too much time to elaborate but the Astros should tee off tonight and win this game by a few runs. Let’s run it up!
