No Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving return tonight yet the oddsmakers see the Lake Show as 2.5 point favorites over a surging Nets team. I can’t tell if this is a disrespectful line or what they’re trying to do. I honestly have no idea. I’ve been ice cold when it comes to predicting games involving the Nets so your guess is as good as mine. The only way to get out of this Nets hole is to just keep firing so I’m going to preview each team and get into my final analysis and bets for tonight!
Spread: BKN +2.5 (-110) | LAL -2.5 (-110)
Money Line: BKN (+120) | LAL (-140)
Total: 233.5 (O -113, U -107)
Tip: 10:05 ET | Staples Center | Los Angeles, CA
Brooklyn Nets (18-12)
The Nets are riding a four game win streak after mounting a 20+ points comeback against the Suns on Tuesday night. James Harden led the team with 38 points on a 14-22 outing from the field and now Brooklyn is within 1.5 games of first place behind the Sixers.
Nets fans must be thrilled that they’ll get Kevin Durant back tonight after losing him to Corona protocols and then he missed two games with hamstring issues. He should be back in the lineup tonight as will Kyrie “Walking Stick” Irving. Not sure if that was supposed to actually aid him or if it was a part of his wardrobe lmao. Anyways, it is that three-headed monster that leads Brooklyn in basically every category. KD is the team’s leading scorer and he’s averaging 29.0 ppg to go along with 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists. Kyrie is averaging 28.3 / 4.3 / 5.7 while Harden is at 24.3 / 8.4 / 11.8.
Los Angeles Lakers (22-7)
The Lakers are 7-1 in February but they’ll be without Anthony Davis in the middle for a couple of weeks, at least. That means it’ll be up to Lebron James and his supporting cast to try and stop the best offense in the league tonight. James is averaging 25.7 points per game to go along with 8.2 rebounds and 7.9 assists.
Overall, the Lakers are the best defense in the league but they’re also efficient on offense. They have the third highest shooting percentage (48.7%) and score the 14th most points per game at 113.
Final Analysis & Best Bet
I truly believe that being Davis-less will hinder the Lake Show’s defense tonight. So I’m taking the Nets +2.5 (-110) for a unit. Also, mark me down for the overs on James Harden and Dennis Schroder points, rebounds, and assists at their respective numbers of 44.5 (-114) and 24.5 (-120). Ultimately, I like the Nets to play their style of basketball tonight and control the pace. They’re going to push it up and down the court, giving these guys plenty of opportunities to reach their overs. As for the game, without AD, I don’t know what the Lakers are going to draw up to try and stop the three stars that Brooklyn has on deck. Take this one to the bank and let’s cash some damn tickets.
