Moneyline: CHC (-125) | SD (+115)

Runline: CHC -1.5 (+160) | SD +1.5 (-180)

Total: 8: O (-115); U (-105)
First Pitch: 7:05pm CST | Wrigley Field | Chicago, IL

Pitching Matchup: Ryan Weathers (2-1, 1.31 ERA) vs. Kyle Hendricks (5-4, 4.63 ERA)

Game one of the three game set went to the Northsiders by a final score of 7-2 thanks to a barrage of homeruns. Patrick Wisdom went yard twice while Javy Baez matched him and Kris Bryant tagged the fifth longball for the Cubs. These two squads are back at it tonight as Chicago looks to extend their divisional lead while the Friars look to narrow the gap between the Giants and themselves in the West. Hector and I will be in attendance tonight so check out our bets that we’ll be rooting for from the bleachers!

Hector’s Analysis & Best Bet

My best bet here will be the Cubs on the money line in the F5 at -120. I think Hendricks definitely has the upper hand in the matchup and has been pitching well in his previous 3 starts earning 3 straight winning decisions. Although the numbers show that Hendricks has pitched slightly better on the road, I think he can keep the Padres offense at bay long enough to cash our bet. I know it’s tough for the Padres offense to be held to low scoring in back to back games but the Cubbies are playing well even despite a heavy dose of injuries.

Trent’s Analysis & Best Bet

I am taking the Padres ML tonight (+115) for a unit. It’s late in the afternoon and I’m two beers and a margarita deep so I don’t have the usual in-depth analysis you would be use to, but I like this San Diego lineup a lot. They’re healthy and the team slashes .242/.327/.321 against Hendricks. The Professor has been ramping it up lately but his starts were against the lowly Pirates and Tiger and abysmal offense of St. Louis. So I’ll give H the early innings but once the lineup turns over the third time (and the 5th inning passes) we’ll turn to rooting for the Friars.
