The only thing better than Sunday Night Baseball is betting on Sunday Night Baseball! We’re getting together for another SNB collab with three bets. Let’s dive into this National League rubber match featuring the Braves and Cubs from historic Wrigley Field!
Hector’s Analysis & Best Bet
Kyle Hendricks will be back on the mound after being scratched from his last start due to him not feeling well. The Cubs offense looks to be back after taking a few years off and tonight we should be in for a great rubber match. My best bet will be riding with the hot bat and going with Willson Contreras having at least 3 hits, runs, and RBI at +112. Contreras is currently on a 7 game hitting streak and over his last 3 games, he has collected 4 home runs, 5 RBI, 5 runs scored and has lifted his batting average to a respectable .282 for a Cubs offense that was on pace to be historically bad. The Cubs will be facing Bryse Wilson who was just recalled from the alternate site yesterday. He made some appearances in 2020 but it was a small enough sample size that I cannot really put any stock into it but he made just 6 appearances with 2 of those being starts and had an ERA of 4.02 and a WHIP of 1.72. If Wilson cannot keep the Cubs’ bats in check tonight, it may be a long night for the 23 year old right hander.
The Pick: Wilson Contreras to have at least 3 hits, runs, and RBI at +112

Austin’s Analysis & Best Bet
Another exciting Sunday Night Baseball game is upon us with two teams that haven’t lived up to their pre-season expectations. The Braves are sitting at 6-9 mostly due to their pitching struggling to this point. Atlanta is trying to find different ways of getting better starts from their pitchers and they are trying something new as Brian Snitker will send out Bryse Wilson for his 2021 season debut. The Braves righty has faced the Cubs lineup once back in 2019 where Chicago was able to get six runs (four earned) off of Wilson. My best bet is Anthony Rizzo to total 2 hits, runs, and RBI combined at +118. Rizzo has struggled this season but the last four games he’s been hitting better and with Rizzo being a righty killer, I expect him to extend his four game hit streak tonight. Back in that 2019 game where Wilson started for the Braves, Rizzo went two for three with a walk, a RBI, and two runs scored. In Sunday Night Baseball games, bats usually show up and with how the Cubs looked last night, I expect the bats of Contreras, Rizzo, and Bryant to show up again.
The Pick: Anthony Rizzo totaling 2 hits, runs, and RBI at +118

Trent’s Analysis & Best Bet
It’s set to be a beauty tonight at the old ballpark with temps around 56 at first pitch and a little overcast. I love Sunday Night Baseball so I’ll definitely be tuned in as the Cubs’ bats look to stay hot after shelling Huascar Ynoa yesterday afternoon. I’ll keep it short and sweet since the boys got to most of the details above. I’m going with my personal favorite bet and some of the most thrilling action that you can get on the diamond. It’s wire-to-wire and you can have a sweat anytime the ball is in play. I’m taking the over on 26 hits, runs, and errors in the game (-115) for a unit. Although the Professor was able to bounce back in his last start and go six scoreless, it was against the Brewers. And no disrespect to #AustinsCrew, Milwaukee isn’t in the same tier offensively as the Bravos. Atlanta’s team batting average is just 21st in the league (.225) but they can mash. They’re 8th in runs (68), and 3rd in longballs (20). The top of the order should see moderate success off of Hendricks tonight and I think they’ll do enough to hold up their end of the deal. Ronald Acuna Jr. is 1-2 against Hendricks with a bomb and Marcell Ozuna is 12-32 with two moonshots and 9 RBI’s. Freddie Freeman is just 1-8 but with Ozuna batting behind him, it should provide a little bit of protection for the MVP.
On the flip side, it’s a minimal sample size but this Cubs roster is 4-9 against Bryse Wilson with two extra base hits. And after yesterday’s performance, I think the Northsiders are feeling good about the sticks. Forget about the first 13 games of the year and the league’s worst batting average and slugging percentage. Stop living in the past. This Cubs team turned the corner yesterday against a fifth start on an injury plagued rotation. The Cubs bats are back, baby. Take the over on 26 hits, runs, and errors (-115) tonight and sit back and enjoy the sweat.
The Pick: Over 26 hits, runs, and errors in the game (-115)
